In my previous post, I wrote that George Osbourne does not like whiplash. Having reflected on this matter somewhat, read a few forum posts and talked to a couple of people, I am now led to the conclusion that George Osbourne, despite being Chancellor of the Exchequer, does not like money either. National Child Birth Trust

Our Employment Lawyer Kiran Dodeja will be giving a talk on Employment law issues at the National Childbirth Trust play group in Chiswick tomorrow morning. The talk will be based on maternity leave issues and flexible working hours. Kiran being a mother herself of two children understands the obstacles faced by many parents whilst juggling a career with childcare arrangements. "Hopefully this discussion will be informative to working mums and indeed mums that are looking to go back to work. It is staggering to see the amount of women that are made redundant whilst they are on maternity leave. Women need to be better informed about their employment law rights. Employment Law legislation is there to protect women from discrimination within the workplace".

"Following on from the talk that I gave at the NCT in Chiswick last week about flexible working hours, it occurred to me that many women still do not know about their legal rights whilst on maternity leave. One mother was told that her holiday leave is not accrued whilst she is on maternity leave, which is an untruth. I have therefore decided to hold a legal surgery at our office on 16th April 2013 for the benefit of women on maternity leave. I will be offering free 15 minute time slots by phone/in person. Please call 020 8741 9883 to make an appointment." Kiran Dodeja
