Employment Tribunal Fees

The introduction of Tribunal fees last summer can be confusing to Claimants. Here is a useful guide to provide you with information in relation to Tribunal fees.The fee payable depends upon the type of claim that is being pursued. This is broken down into two levels.

Level 1 claims include, unpaid wages, notice pay or failure to receive redundancy payments for example
Level 2 claims include unfair dismissal, discrimination, equal pay and whistleblowing.

Issue fees are paid when you submit the claim. This can be paid by debit/credit card online or if the claim is being posted then a cheque or postal order will suffice.The hearing fee is usually paid 4-6 weeks prior to the actual hearing date. Ways of how to pay this should be accompanied by the notice of hearing.
